For the 6th consecutive year, BlueScope is proud to again be involved with The Block in 2022. Airing on Channel 9 right now, this year is bigger and better than ever, as television's toughest building challenge escapes to the bush for a tree change.
This year The Block is set in the shadow of the Macedon Ranges in Gisborne, VIC. The 12-week build is extremely 'steel intensive', showcasing COLORBOND® steel in a range of applications and colours in each of the homes' stunning pavilions.

‘The Colour Journey with Wisdom Homes’ Podcast
In a brand new podcast, COLORBOND® steel colour and design consultant, Christine McCoy discusses ‘The Colour Journey’ with Belinda McDougall, the head of the colour team at Wisdom Homes Canvas Quarter.
This is all about crafting homes for our Australian lifestyle. Belinda is so passionate about her role in guiding clients to find the best outcome for their home. She puts her heart and soul into every project. In her own words: "Helping someone build their dream is just the best. We lay out all the colours that a client picks for the externals of their house – starting from the top and working our way down… and once you put them all together, you can actually see what your house is going to look like when it's finished!"
‘The Colour Journey’ is all about building a house that's going to suit the way a person lives. Everyone is different and every journey is a personal one.

Be inspired by our #FridayFlatlays
Right now we’re inviting colour and design professionals to share their best flatlay designs using COLORBOND® steel. Why should this interest you? Because from all the entries we receive, we will select which we think are the best flatlay designs using COLORBOND® steel and share them on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest as part of our #FridayFlatlays campaign to inspire those building or updating their homes.
There’s been a different inspirational theme for each month, echoing the beauty of the Australian landscape and the strength of COLORBOND® steel’s palette. In August, the theme is Urban Oasis. In September, it’s Tree Change and in October it’s Colours of Australia.

‘Passive building’ a luxurious, healthy and eco harmonious home
Millswood is an elegantly beautiful, eco-efficient and sustainable home designed and built by luxury custom home builders Klemm Homes. It features COLORBOND® steel roofing in the colour Monument® Matt using a Fielders Steel Prominence™ profile and wrapped down as a wall cladding on the front walls as well.
Klemm Homes said: "The profile we selected supports the simple ‘Farmhouse’ form we wanted to achieve. Farmhouses were traditionally simple, with tin roofs and local stone constructed walls. We absolutely love our COLORBOND® steel simple, but super elegant roof and how it highlights the local SA sourced Basket Range Stone".
Passive build techniques and materials have been used on this build to naturally assist the thermal properties of the home, reducing the need for active systems such as air conditioning to heat and cool the home. The second story is predominantly hidden from the street view to blend in with the streetscape.
