Global GreenTag^CertTM GreenRate^TM Certification

BlueScope is pleased to share that we have recently gained Global GreenTag^CertTM GreenRate^TM certification for a number of our products. These include COLORBOND^® steel for exterior roofing and walling 0.42mm and 0.48mm in our 22 standard colours, Welded Beams and Columns and XLERPLATE^® steel.

All of these products have achieved the highest rating 'Level A'.

GreenRate^TM is a robust and comprehensive third-party verified ecolabelling program. It provides a holistic sustainability assessment of a product. Issues assessed include health and ecotoxicity of materials and environmental and social performance in manufacturing operations.

In addition to GreenRate^TM certification, BlueScope has recently published updated Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for Hot Rolled Coil, Welded Beams and Columns and XLERPLATE^® steel. These updated documents provide an increased level of transparency of the environmental impacts of our products across a range of categories. BlueScope EPDs are verified to be compliant with International Standard ISO 14025 and the best practice European Standard EN 15804.

• As the focus on product sustainability increases, ecolabels such as GreenRate^TM and EPDs offer a simple and effective way to communicate the sustainability attributes of applicable BlueScope products.
• Ecolabels are a point of difference for the applicable BlueScope products which will be valued by customers focused on achieving particular sustainable project outcomes.
• GreenRate^TM certification and EPDs may help you demonstrate compliance with particular sustainability requirements in tenders.
• Ecolabels such as GreenRate^TM and EPDs earn points under the Green Star and Infrastructure Sustainability (IS) Rating programs. Specifying products with recognised ecolabels can be a fast, cost-effective means for projects to earn points under these programs.
• EPDs can also contribute to scoring points under international rating tools such as LEED.
• EPDs can be used to support whole-of-life assessment for buildings and infrastructure projects, as well as their components.
